ABOUT THE SEA SONIC CENTAUR
(about the Sea Sonic Sirena - Click Here)

Our goal is to build the highest quality handcrafted wooden runabout on the market. In doing so, we focus on consummate craftsmanship, performance and luxury. The result is the Sea Sonic Centaur.

INTERIOR

Cruising
The Sea Sonic Centaur's generous interior offers captain and passengers the utmost in comfort, practicality and elegance. The dashboard is well thought out as the positioning of the gauges and controls makes handling easy and exciting. The comfortable seats (for up to 6 people) are made from top of the line materials that are carefully upholstered to be great looking and able to resist wear and wet conditions. And, for those who like to soak up the sun, there is a convenient sunning pad. The combination of seating and sunning pad increases capacity to 8 people.

Entertaining
Entertaining guests is just as pleasurable as cruising. A wet-bar, sink and refrigerator will ensure they are always refreshed while humming along to the tunes emanating from the high-end stereo system, a standard item on all Sea Sonic boats.

Relaxing
The below-deck V berth offers a retreat from the sun. This is where you will also find a storage space and built-ins for supplies and personal items. A glass deck-hatch allows air and light to enter.

Water access
Swimmers and water skiers will appreciate having easy access in and out of the water in the form of a stepped transom with chrome handrails. Also, a convenient hot/cold freshwater shower is located in the stern above the swim platform that is particularly nice after a saltwater swim. For drying off and tanning, a large padded sunbathing area is located on the aft deck.

EXTERIOR
The Hull
Solid mahogany is used throughout, including the keel, chine, sheer line, ribs and stringers. A multi layered mahogany marine plywood is attached to the outside of this strong internal frame and, to add additional strength to the hull and transom, a sheet of Kevlar is embedded between the two layers of plywood. The result is a strong, watertight, twist-free hull which, when compared to fiberglass hulls, offers 35% more strength and rigidity.

The Deck
Traditional wooden boats are built using solid wood planks that tend to shrink and expand. This creates open joints and cracks which causes leaks and damage to the finish. Planked wooden boats also require ongoing maintenance and refinishing. This does not apply to Sea Sonic Centaur due to the improved technical advances in modern boat building. Using precise Swiss craftsmanship throughout, Canadian maple is artistically inlaid on the fore and aft deck and is complimented with shining chrome hardware appointments that are both practical and stylish.

The Finish
The inflexibility of construction of the Sea Sonic Centaur allows for a very hard finish to be applied. Fourteen coats of epoxy and four coats of a polyurethane containing UV protection are applied. The natural beauty of the wood shines through with its deep shine and transparency. This tough, durable exterior guarantees a watertight weather and saltwater resistant finish that is near maintenance free.
